Email Marketing Infrastructure

At Interface we have invested in both infrastructure as well as processes to ensure the most effective management of all email marketing campaigns on behalf of our clients. As a specialised email marketing agency we just don't send out emailers to a list. We take every step necessary to ensure the maximum inbox delivery rate possible while complying with all regulations laid out by regulators and email clients as a responsible commercial bulk mailer agency.

The following are some of the key initiatives that differentiate our email marketing program from many others:

1. Dedicated servers for email marketing

Interface has dedicated high end Intel Zeon Servers with 100 Mbps premium internet bandwidth per server that are used exclusively for running email marketing campaigns for our clients. All our servers have been thoroughly checked to prevent open relays, run uptodate McAfee AntiVirus and are configured to be completely hacker proof for complete mailing list security. Our mailout software runs directly off the dedicated servers thus ensuring very high speed of campaign execution. For a single campaign having a clean opt-in list, each of our servers can deliver upto half a million emailers a day, thus ensuring high priority campaigns reach your customers inbox in the quickest possible time.

2. Optimum Domain Settings

We work with our clients to ensure that we fully identify our campaigns, all ISP's and email server providers. We do not undertake a campaign unless SPF records are added to the clients domain to authorise our servers to undertake campaigns on their behalf. This is extremely important to ensure that ISP's and major email service providers identify email campaign messages originating from our servers as legitimate bulk mail. To red more about the importance of SPF records, please click here.

Wherever possible we insist on using domain keys to sign off messages originating from the sender domain. This further helps delivery with email service providers like yahoo who give a great deal to weightage to the use of domain keys to validate messages from bulk senders. In many cases where the size of the mailing list is expected to be very large, we work closely with our clients to book alternate domain names through which bulk messages are sent so that in the event of inadvertent blocking by certain ISP's, legitimate non-email marketing mails from the clients domain are not affected in any way.

3. FQDN - While Listing

Emails originating from our servers have proper fully qualified domain names (FQDN) defined with appropriate PTR records ( pointer records to find). Our FQDN's are white listed with major service providers like yahoo through extensive communication and adherence to yahoo bulk mailing policies. This allows our campaigns to enjoy a much higher delivery rate with major email service providers.

4. Managing Bounce Backs

Unlike many email marketing service providers who follow a fire and forget approach to email marketing whereby their assignment sends by sending the emails, at Interface thats only a job half done. We actively process all bounce back messages and identify all ISP's and email service providers that have returned email messages. Through automated software, we classify legitimate, soft bounce, hard bounce and delivery block messages. Whenever we encounter incidents of delivery block, we manually ascertain the reason for the ISP or email service provider blocking our email communication. If in the rare case we find any incidence of black listing by any of the 145 monitored public blacklists, we immediately start appropriate proceeding for removal from the black list. If we find messages have been bounced for non black list issues by certain ISP's and email service providers, we open communications with them to audit our responsible email marketing processes and pursue them at our FQDN to their white lists.

5. Sender Score Monitoring

Today many ISP's and email service providers determine inbox delivery rates based on key matrices like return paths, sender score as well as other sender reputation scores. We monitor the sender scores our FQDN's in real-time and ensure we take appropriate action to maintain a very high sender score. As of today on a score of 0 to 100 (100 being the best) our FQDN's enjoy sender scores of 90 and above.

6. Spam Score checking for all html campaigns

Getting the message delivered to the recipient is only half the battle won in a successful email marketing campaign. Ensuring the message reaches recipients inbox versus landing in his junk mail / bulk mail folder can significantly improve the ROI of any email campaign. Our campaign designers have the experience to create html campaigns with very low spam score so that inbox delivery rates are extremely high. All campaign messages are checked for spam score values and continuous adjustments are made till we are well within spam score limits of most spam filters. While in general most spam filters get filtered at a score of 4, most of our email campaigns have a spam score of less than 1.

7. MIME Multipart Campaigns

All our email campaigns are sent as MIME multipart messages to reach the maximum audience possible. Multipart messages send both text and html messages in the same message so that people who have non-html email clients do not see junk but a well crafted text only campaign message. This further adds to the campaigns ROI.

8. Email List Cleaning

Unknown user deliveries (delivery attempted to non-existant users) is a significant penalty to sender reputation and email marketing campaign performance. We ensure that all hard bounced email id's are immediately removed from the list and all soft bounces with more than 3 occurrence of bounce are similarly purged from the list. In compliance with law, we maintain an unsubscribe link for all all our clients and ensure immediate unsubscription for any user who does not want repeat emails from the client.

9. Extensive Reporting

Our campaign reports track every possible parameter to judge the effectiveness of the campaign in an absolutely transparent manner. From delivery failures to opens at an individual target level to which link was clicked by which user any piece of information that you may desire is available through our extensive email marketing reports. click here to view a sample report from one of our campaigns (client name, email and links have been altered to preserve confidentiality)
